Limiting Sleeptime EMF Exposure Is Essential
Chiropractic can also help to lessen the harmful effect of this stress
For the last 8 years or so, as part of my initial consultation, I query our new clients’ exposure to various forms of man-made electromagnetic fields (EMFs). These types of questions never come up when consulting conventional doctors, which is one reason that most doctors and their patients haven’t been able to realize a connection between overexposure and health issues.
Many of our clients have discovered that they have been inadvertently overexposing themselves, even if they’re not using these devices much during the day. About 6 years ago, I had an elderly client that developed strange neurological symptoms. She went to several specialists that couldn’t determine the cause of her problems. During her initial consult, we discovered that she had been sleeping with a WiFi transmitter behind her headboard. Fortunately, her problems disappeared and moving this device away likely helped speed her recovery.
Just last week, two of our new clients were sleeping with their WiFi transmitters in their bedrooms, for the last few years. Another lady was sleeping with her cell phone under her pillow. Today, someone told me that WiFi gives him headaches, but he works in I.T., so it’s unavoidable. Many studies have confirmed the harmful effect of this radiation, especially on the brain and nervous system, which is most vulnerable to these ill effects during sleep. Alarmingly, according to a 2019 study, “a correlation was observed between sleeping with a cell phone and/or laptop under the pillow and Multiple Sclerosis disease.”
For decades now, an organization known as the Environmental Working Group, has been warning us about the dangers of pesticides and herbicides in our food. Recently, they’ve also begun focusing on the health hazards of EMF’s and have published reports regarding infertility, cardiovascular health, and neurological problems, such as “changes in brain glucose metabolism, changes in brain blood flow and brain activities, changes in sleep, increased risk of headaches, behavioral changes, and increased risk of brain tumors.”
While limiting exposure is essential, taking steps to improve the function of your nervous system is vital to make you more resilient to this stressor. As this radiation also affects the permeability of the blood brain barrier, the brain lymphatics need to efficiently help detoxify, and specific chiropractic can also help. For most people, their lives are revolving around some sort of wireless technology, but avoiding sleeptime exposure is half the battle, allowing your body’s own electrical and communication system to withstand this ever-present stress during the day.
